BSL Group take Sightseeing Cruise

On Saturday 9th September, City Cruises York hosted a group of 45 deaf passengers from all over the UK on a sightseeing cruise. The team arranged for British Sign Language interpreter, Matt Dixon, to receive a copy of the sightseeing commentary in advance of the cruise, which he conveyed to the group during the sailing. The Deaf Man Vlog UK (DMVUK) group, which originated on Facebook, also visited York Brewery and attended a fundraising event in the evening for local group Jorvik Deaf Connections.

Mark Mattinson, Sales and Marketing Manager, City Cruises York said: “We were delighted to be able to organise a cruise to help raise funds for this fantastic cause. We are always looking for ways in which we can make our cruises more accessible to all passengers and hope to be able to continue this in the future.”
