Bishopthorpe Palace Christmas Cruise

Santa Experience

Whether you are just visiting for an afternoon or planning on staying for a few nights, there are plenty of incredible activities to keep you entertained during a day out in York.

Eboracum, Jorvik and now York; this city has seen some changes and now there are 2000 years of history ready for you to explore, see, smell, learn about and experience.

York is lucky to be serviced by excellent rail connections, meaning you can reach us easily from London, Leeds, Newcastle, Manchester, Edinburgh or Liverpool.

Visit York is the go-to place to start planning your trip; either their excellent website or by visiting their incredibly helpful team in the Visitor Information centre just near our Lendal Bridge Landing.

Our Sightseeing tours of York sail from both Lendal Bridge and King’s Staith, whilst our evening sightseeing tours sail from the King’s Staith Landing only. There are a wealth of outstanding and award winning attractions in and around the city so if you don’t have time to join us for a daytime river tour, the Early Evening Cruise affords you the opportunity to extend your day of sightseeing before returning to your hotel.

You can build a full day out with City Cruises York too; you can add a discounted ticket to York Dungeon onto any of our cruise tickets or buy a combined York City Cruise and York Dungeon Tour ticket when you book online. Alternatively, you can buy a ticket for any cruise on the quayside and then receive a substantial ticket at York City Sightseeing bus tours (25%) or York’s Chocolate Story (20%). We regularly update our special offers that often feature discounted entry to other attractions in the city.

There are also a wealth of free activities to keep everyone entertained including a lap of the City Walls, the excellent Museum Gardens close to our Lendal Bridge Landing or the beautifully landscaped Rowntree’s Park close to our King’s Staith Landing. The park was presented to the city by the Rowntree’s Chocolate Manufacturers to commemorate all of the brave men and women of York who had sadly lost their lives whilst serving the country during the Great War.

A family day out in York is not complete without some fun on the water; perhaps hiring one of our Self Drive Red Boats would be a great way to keep the little ones entertained for an hour? Life jackets are available on request. We are also proud to be a part of the Yorkshire Attractions group, a fine array of family-friendly attractions around the region.
