We offer a unique perspective of York for your school party to enjoy as you cruise along the River Ouse. The route of our cruises provides an opportunity to deliver a commentary that contains a balanced account of York’s Roman, Viking and Industrial past with additional reference to local fauna, the history of the development of the River Ouse, local architecture, life on the river itself and its role in the progress of York’s emergence as one of the most pivotal cities in the north of England.
Educational Groups such as schools and colleges and Young Person’s Organisations such as Cubs and Brownies are welcome to join us for either of the following cruises at a discounted rate:
York City Cruise (Daytime sailings between February and November)
We have two departure points for our York City Cruise, the King’s Staith Landings and the Lendal Bridge Landing.
King’s Staith Landing Group Sailing Times:
Low season: 10:30AM, 12 Noon, 1:30PM & 3PM
High season: 10:30AM, 12 Noon, 1:30PM & 3PM plus additional times in between (during school holidays we cannot accommodate group bookings after the 12 Noon sailing).
Nearby attractions: Jorvik Viking Centre, York Dungeon, Clifford’s Tower and York Castle Museum.
Lendal Bridge Landing Group Sailing Times:
Low season: 10:40AM, 12:10PM, 1:40PM & 3:10PM
High season: 10:40AM, 12:10PM, 1:40PM & 3:10PM plus additional times in between (during school holidays we cannot accommodate group bookings after the 12:10PM sailing).
Nearby attractions: York Minster, Yorkshire Museum Gardens and National Railway Museum
Early Evening Cruise (7:30PM – 8:30PM on selected dates April to October)
The Early Evening Cruise departs from our King’s Staith Landing only.
