A delightful cruise with delicious food aboard the Captain James Cook, sailing regularly from April to September.
Join us for a delightful 1 hour and 45 minute cruise and enjoy a delicious 2 course, buffet-style lunch served on board the Captain James Cook. Your dessert will also be accompanied by a tea or coffee. This cruise sails from our King’s Staith Landing only. Boarding commences at 11:30 a.m., with the buffet style lunch served from 12 Noon.
The cruise will also include relaxing background music whilst you enjoy your lunch, followed by some informative commentary from our local, knowledgeable skipper as the boat turns at Bishopthorpe Palace, the stunning riverside residence of His Grace the Archbishop of York and also as you head back upstream into the city.
These cruises will be incredibly popular and we are delighted to be able to offer an extensive schedule from April to September. Advance booking is essential (bookings on the day are subject to availability).

If you are wanting to order the vegetarian option or have other dietary requirements, this must be communicated at the time of booking or at the latest, at least 2 days prior to your cruise so that we can inform our caterers. You can also pre-order beverages when you book your tickets online or over the phone. Pre-ordered drinks will be ready on your table for you when you board. Choose from a selection of house wines, Prosecco, real ales and more. Otherwise, drinks are available to purchase throughout the cruise from the bar on the lower deck.
Unfortunately, the Lunch Cruise does not sail on a wheelchair accessible vessels and so there will be some steps before you get to your table. Please note there are also no baby changing facilities, highchair facilities or pushchair storage on this vessel.
Important Information: When booking tickets, please remember that we would like all of our passengers to enjoy this dining cruise. There is some live sightseeing commentary. If you are booking as a large group, and think that you and your fellow passengers’ behaviour and noise levels may distract other passengers from being able to enjoy the cruise, then please do not purchase tickets. Our Captains may refuse to carry any passengers, or direct any passenger to disembark at another landing during the cruise, where the behaviour of that passenger is liable to cause nuisance or offence to the other passengers or put at risk the safety of the passenger, other passengers, crew or vessel.
