ARE YOU BRAVE ENOUGH TO VISIT YORK DUNGEON?
The York Dungeon tour lasts for 75-minutes, taking you through more than 2000 years of York’s grizzly past. The Dungeon features an incredible cast of theatrical actors, special effects, stages and scenes in a unique and immersive experience that you see, hear, feel and smell. It’s hilarious fun and might even be a little bit scary!
From experience, we can guarantee that you will laugh and scream, you will love it.
The York Dungeon features 10 live, interactive shows and they really are the black comedy of attractions; dark, atmospheric and very very funny.
SO WHAT HAPPENS EXACTLY?
You and your companions will trace York’s murky history through all 10 live shows and 9 live actors. It is based on the City’s actual history (minus the boring bits they tell us) where you come face-to-face with sinister characters from York’s gruesome past, including traitorous plotter Guy Fawkes and the infamous highwayman Dick Turpin, recently returned in 2017.
Fear the Vikings
You sneaky Saxons have got to prove your worth in the city of Eoforwic.
Vengeance of the Vikings
The Viking show was new for 2016! Will you survive the Viking invasion?
Spots, boils, pus… yuk! The Doctor’s assistant will see you now.
The Golden Fleece
You will never drink alone in the Golden Fleece.
There’s a plot to blow up the Houses of Parliament, but will you find a way out?
Remember, remember the 5th of November…
It’s back-breaking work. Did I hit a nerve?
Frantically funny. Thief? Villain? Rogue? Clear conscience?
See how they roll at Mickelgate Bar.
Some faces just stop traffic. Expect holdups ahead.
A warm welcome awaits. Cackle as they crackle.
How does the combined ticket work?
This offer is available if pre-booked online only.
York Dungeon advise that their tour is suitable for children aged 10 and over so please take this into consideration when booking tickets.
Once you have booked your tickets, you can visit either attraction first as you will receive two separate tickets. Your Dungeon ticket is not pre-booked for a specific time (although there will be a time printed on your ticket – this is the time of your cruise), meaning you have two options when visiting:
You can either join the walk up queue upon arrival at the Dungeon and wait for the next available tour. Or alternatively, you may book a specific date and time at the York Dungeon box office should you wish to attend at a later time or date within the validity period.
Please remember that you must provide a printed version of the ticket at the Dungeon box office.
Also, please note that your York Dungeon ticket is valid for use within 7 days of the date of the cruise that it was purchased in conjunction with.

Please Note: Due to the nature of the cruise, City Cruises York reserve the right to refuse admission to Stag/Hen parties. Our Captains may refuse to carry any passengers, or direct any passenger to disembark, where the behaviour of that passenger is liable to cause nuisance or offence to the other passengers or put at risk the safety of the passenger, other passengers, crew or vessel.
